All special and modified tools are manufactured to customer specifications and encompass international and internal Dormer manufacturing standards.
Dormer can quote for outright Carbide DRILL specials, as well as Intermediate Diameter drill sizes and Double Diameter drills. Two forms have been developed to facilitate this process. To download the forms, click here.
HSS/HSCo DRILL modifications incorporate diameter reduction, coating, tanging, whistle notching, length reduction, as well as Intermediate Diameter drill sizes and Double Diameter drills and outright specials, as for Carbide. Special TAPS are manufactured in Sweden from hardened and ground HSS blanks, or in some cases, bar material, where the sizes required exceed the standard blank dimensions. Blanks are stocked in ISO, DIN and ANSI standards, fluted and non-fluted. Each special tap order is given its own unique code, which stays with it for every step of the special tap manufacturing process, and in turn, simplifies the re-order process.
